Over the past few months, the school has undergone a true transformation. The new digital STEM lab is now up and running: a space where children can experiment, observe, and learn with their own hands. It has been equipped with technological tools, connectivity, and educational software, and a STEM teaching committee coordinates the pedagogical activities, adapting learning guides and administering diagnostic tests to determine each student’s starting point.

The results are beginning to show in the classrooms, and for a few hours, the children become budding scientists, engineers, and creators.

In one of the classes, themed “Sides, Vertices, Edges… The 3 Clues to Shape!”, the youngest students explore geometric figures through play. A yellow sphere, a red cone, or a colorful cube become tools for understanding space and shapes. Amid laughter and curiosity, the students learn to recognize the basic elements of geometry: the foundation of logical and mathematical thinking.

In another session, called “Fun Science: Understanding Simple Machines,” fourth-grade students create pulleys and models using cardboard, modeling clay, and tape. As they work, they discover how forces and mechanisms facilitate movement. It’s an active learning experience that combines creativity and technical knowledge and fosters collaboration in the classroom.

They also had their first experience in the chemistry lab. Equipped with lab coats, gloves, and masks, the students experimented with the states of matter and chemical reactions, gaining a practical understanding of concepts they previously only encountered in books. For example, they learned how to make homemade soap.
