New charity preview from CODESPA Catalunya: "A Daughter in Tokyo" (Une part manquante)
At Fundació CODESPA Catalunya, we organize social events that give us the opportunity to see our friends, partners, and collaborators, and also to raise funds that allow us to help people experiencing exclusion and extreme poverty. This time, we’ll be getting together for the preview screening of “A Daughter in Tokyo” (Une part manquante), a film set in Tokyo, directed by Guillaume Senez and starring Romain Duris and Judith Chemla.

Why is it important for you to come?
Since 1985, at CODESPA we have been implementing socioeconomic development cooperation projects with the aim of ending poverty in disadvantaged countries. We help vulnerable people access decent and stable employment so they can become self-sufficient and support their families. To achieve this, we provide them with specialized training and skills development, financial services, and market opportunities.

Synopsis:
Jay has been living in Japan for 13 years. Every night he drives his taxi around Tokyo. Jay had a daughter, Lily, with a Japanese woman. But he hasn’t seen her in almost 10 years. Like thousands of other separated parents in Japan, he was denied joint custody. After years of searching and losing hope of ever finding her, he’s about to return to France to start over when one day, Lily finally gets into his taxi.
We thank MOOBY Cinemas y A Contracorriente Films for their collaboration, which made this charity event possible by providing the theater and the film, respectively.
