The CODESPA Catalunya Foundation joins Sant Jordi with a second-hand book stand in Barcelona

This April 23rd, the CODESPA Catalunya Foundation will once again celebrate Sant Jordi on the streets. Barcelona will shine once again with this popular festival, where the city’s districts will be filled with roses and books, in a literary super-island in the heart of the Eixample district.

Due to the reorganization of public spaces during the pandemic, we have changed our usual location to Córcega, 292 (corner corner bordering Rambla Catalunya). At the CODESPA Catalunya Foundation stand, you will find novels, poetry collections, biographies, children’s and young adult books, cookbooks, and self-help books. All of them are secondhand, donated, and in good condition.

On the 23rd, the city center becomes a literary super-island so we can enjoy books and roses. Located between Gran Vía and Avinguda Diagonal, and between Pau Claris and Balmes, it will be a large, traffic-free pedestrian space with two distinct areas: on one side for professional booksellers and florists, and on the other for associations and organizations. In addition, professional booksellers and florists will have other spaces spread throughout the city to bring Sant Jordi to the entire city. Districts and neighborhoods will also celebrate Sant Jordi with stalls and various activities, such as open days, workshops, puppet shows, and readings, so that the celebration reaches every corner of the city.
Enjoy Sant Jordi once again with more books, more roses, more culture, and more celebration.

Happy Sant Jordi to all!
