Social reintegration of street children and adolescents, victims of violence, in Goma, DRC.

Starting point
Goma, located on the border with Rwanda, is one of the most dangerous areas in Africa and the world. A large number of displaced people flock to Goma as a refuge. These street children, former soldiers, and victims of sexual violence live in precarious situations from which they find it difficult to escape, carrying with them the trauma of the experiences they have had to endure at such a young age.
Objective
The main objective of this project is to facilitate the social reintegration of victims, boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 18.
What is the project about
Children and young people are welcomed into Don Bosco Ngangi centers, where they are offered comprehensive support. They receive psychological support to help them recover from the traumas they have experienced at a young age, as well as to meet their basic needs for healthcare, housing, and nutrition. Educational and literacy activities are also provided, as well as training for adolescents to develop a career, such as mechanics, drivers, or plumbers, among others. This will enable them to find work upon leaving the centers and become self-sufficient.
