About the CODESPA Catalunya Foundation
CODESPA is an international NGO for Development Cooperation founded in 1985 by a group of university professors and businesspeople actively committed to the mission of helping people escape poverty.
In 1992, CODESPA established a branch in Barcelona and, in June 2000, created Fundació CODESPA Catalunya to better carry out its awareness-raising and fundraising work for social projects. The two organizations work closely together, sharing a mission, vision, and values, projects and technical expertise, as well as international infrastructure and branches.
We also share the presidency and general management, and our Honorary President is His Majesty King Felipe VI.

Mission
Our mission is to enable 10 million people in Latin America, Africa, and Asia to move from poverty to prosperity through our scalable model of rural market development and entrepreneurship support, providing them with knowledge, financial services, and market opportunities.
